Warner Japan iTunes

Apple has announced that the Warner Music Japan catalog is now available to users of the iTunes Store in Japan. Among the artists ushered in by the deal are Ayaka, Bonnie Pink, Green Day, Kobukuro, Linkin Park, Madonna, Mariya Takeuchi, My Chemical Romance, Red Hot Chili Peppers, R.E.M. and Rip Slyme. Also, the exclusive world premiere of Ayaka's new video for the hit track "Jewelry Day" is debuting on the iTunes Store.

This partnership brings the total number of tracks offered by Japan's iTunes store to over 4 million, with over 90 percent of the tracks priced at 150 yen per song. So far, according to Apple, over 2.5 billion songs purchased and downloaded from the Japanese store.

"We're delighted to make the Warner Japan catalog available on the iTunes Store for the first time,” said Lachie Rutherford, President, Warner Music Asia Pacific. “We’re proud to be marking the event with exclusive content from some of our most exciting acts and look forward to music fans being able to download their favorite Warner artists from iTunes."
