Wednesday, June 6thAT&T ramps iPhone ads, adds pre-paid data
AT&T today began its in-store ad campaign for the iPhone, following the Sunday introduction of Apple's TV campaign. The poster-based graphics reiterate the now official June 29th launch date and show the AT&T-branded main menu, though the icons remain the same as before and make no reference to the reported mystery software. AT&T contacts have also been asked to remain silent on full details of the launch until allowed to speak, an investigation adds.
AT&T has also revealed new, data-related options for its GoPhone pre-paid service. Owners of the contract-free devices will be able to add Internet data and messages in blocks that will last for 30 days, or longer if the GoPhone service is renewed. SMS texting can be purchased in 200-message segments for $5, or 3000 messages for $20; data is available at 1MB for $5 and 5MB for $10.
AT&T is currently unlikely to apply the new options to the iPhone, which so far requires a minimum two-year contract. [via BGR]

I can't wait for the iPhone comes out so we can all find out if the speculation on the mysterious 12th app was just wasted time, or there actually is a 12th app (I'm going with the former, since, if there was one, you'd think they'd have it on their advertisements.
And then, when Apple does put a 12th app on it, we'll have to speculate whether that was the 12th app from the advertisement, or another one because Apple had the first one Steve'd.
