WSJ: Jobs, Gates interview

Apple CEO Steve Jobs and Microsoft founder Bill Gates are scheduled to appear in a joint interview tomorrow night at the fifth edition of D: All Things Digital for a Q&A session with Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher. The event, which is taking place at the Four Seasons Resort in Carlsbad, California, is set to kick off this evening with a cocktail party followed by an interview with Senator John McCain. The Wall Street Journal's Mossberg and Swisher are preparing to ask smart, tough questions in a no-holds-barred fashion to uncover advice and insight from two of the tech industry's largest heavyweights. Other speakers due to attend the conference include Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, Steve Case of Revolution, and John Chambers of Cisco Systems.

    Care to place a bet?

Anyone care to set the odds that Steve (lack of) Ballmer will say something either stupid, innacurate, or an outright lie?

My money would be on all three.

    It's gonna be good

I can hardly wait for Ballmer's interview. Unless Microsoft drugs him, it will be very entertaining. I think the smart money in on Ballmer ONLY saying wild, false statements.

TIVO this one, folks. It should be good.

    Carried live?

Is this going to be televised or webcast someplace? I thought it was an invitation-only confab.

    McCain?

An interview with John McCain? What do they expect him to contribute to the discussion, or are they going to change gears completely?

    Re: heavyweight?

I cannont allow Jarod's crude remarks to pass without comment. For the most part, I enjoy reading the user comments in this forum, but crude, vulgar remarks like Jarod's crossed a line that should not be crossed. Although I don't quarrel with Jarod's right to express his thoughts, his remarks in his post only show him to be a crude, vulgar bully, not apparently an indivudual who is capable of expressing a coherent, relevant thought. Comments like Jarod's should have no place in this or other forums, not through censorship but through exercise of self-restraint and common courtesy by its participants. This will be my one and only post on this ugly issue, as I refuse to be drawn into a debate with Jarod or other like-minded individuals.

    What time?

Can't figure out what time this event is, anyone? Local time will do, and European time even better! Thanks.

Amen, brother. Jarod has the intellect and self-control of a 12-year-old.
