Wal-Mart confirms, clarifies Dell PC deal

updated 12:40 pm EDT, Thu May 24, 2007

Wal-Mart on Dell PCs

Claims that Wal-Mart will start selling Dell PCs are partially true, the large retail chain has confirmed today. Although the actual release date of the new systems is set for June rather than late May, distribution of the E521 desktop will actually be larger than expected, reaching a total 3,500 shops across both the US and Canada. The systems on offer would also be faster than the $359 baseline system available today, Wal-Mart says. Two models should be available and will include at least one mid-range system priced below $700.

Neither Dell nor Wal-Mart would say what particular specifications would appear on Wal-Mart shelves. Exac release dates were also unavailable, according to the companies involved. However, Dell has confirmed that there should be equivalents through its online store at the same time, revealing that Wal-Mart is unlikely to receive special components or pricing for its launch.

    Oh goodie!

More junk at Wal-mart! Goes to show that these 2 companies are convinced that the world consists mostly of cheap morons.

This is mac related because now more people are going to see how crapy pc is and even more people switch to mac. I thought I would add I had windows on my mac for 3 min before I was attacked with spyware.
