New "Get a Mac" TV ad
Apple has begun airing a new "Get a Mac" television ad, highlighting the "driver" issues related to upgrading to Windows Vista. The familiar Mac and PC motif shows the PC trying to "get out" by slamming his shoulder into the wall after realizing that he needs new drivers following a Vista upgrade -- while Mac tries to calm PC down. The newest ad, which began airing on US television earlier over the past day or so, is not yet available on Apple's website, but was spotted by users on YouTube (below).

I love reading the various Apple bashing blogs railing against these ads as demeaning and unkind to Windows users. However it's just the Windows cult members that find the ads offensive. Real world Windows users (like my engineer son at his work) find them funnier than h*** and right on the mark. They are the talk of the office at my own workplace (a telecomm giant's central office) and everybody loves them.
Windows cult members live in a huge Ballmer RDF every bit as big as the Jobsonian RDF.
Keep up the good work Apple!

...one being expected to 'respect' religious people's weird and non-sensical beliefs, as we are expected to 'respect' Windows users' wrong decision of their platform.
I guess similarly, because we all acknowledge them (both sides) having made a a wrong decision, and in the interest of cognitive dissonance, we're expected to somehow 'respect' that.
