I have 3 computers, and upgraded all to OS X 10.4.9 ASAP. Now I'm regreting it, and downgraded one back to 10.4.8. It hasn't had the new freezes the others have, since eliminating 10.4.9, and I think there are other bugs in OS X 10.4.9 as I've had several other actions occur that are not right. I think Apple goofed with this update and introduced some unstable code.

Just so you don't think you are alone in your observations drdavid, I too have noticed similar occurances. I have a G4 PowerBook and iBook that I have applied the update too and notice my Airport connection sometimes doesn't take, the memory won't release fully and a host of other small annoyances that weren't there with 10.4.8. I haven't experienced freezes yet, but I may consider downgrading too at some point. I certainly agree, though, that they have introduced some unstable code someplace.
