Subscribers to the AT&T iPhone newsletter may be missing very subtle changes to the product in the latest mailing. An animated GIF in the message cycles through generally familiar images of the device, with the exception of the navigation screen -- in the lower-left is a double-arrow button, previously missing from Apple's official introduction at Macworld. Though its exact purpose is unclear, it may be a toggle for zoom functions.
In the lower-right section of the screen is another new icon, in the form of a car. The purpose of this seems much clearer, as Apple has talked about providing traffic data, and Google Maps (used on the iPhone) does have an option to display current traffic conditions for select American cities.
Finally, all screens in the GIF have at last had the "Cingular" identification at the top replaced by "AT&T." In much of AT&T's promotional material, the company continues to refer to the Cingular name, despite the merger of the two entities and plans to eventually operate solely as AT&T.
