App4Mac releases wKiosk Browser 5.0

App4Mac has released wKiosk Browser 5.0, a Web browser based on Apple's Safari engine that presents online and offline content (such as HTML, Flash, videos, etc.) in a full-screen interface suitable for public access terminals. Users can send email directly from within the browser, and administrators can lock down wKiosk to restrict access to the operating system or unwanted websites. Version 5.0 overhauls many aspects of the software including Favorites, the HTML engine, and the preferences interface. The update also optimizes code for systems running Mac OS X 10.3.9 or 10.4.9. The full application is priced at $70 and requires Mac OS X 10.3; a trial download limits users to one hour of browsing and prevents password protection for preferences.
