HP Santa Rosa Leak

Early information about HP notebooks based on Intel's Santa Rosa architecture has been leaked, courtesy of the company's own product pages. All three of the company's main entertainment PCs, including the 17-inch dv9000 as well as the dv6000 and dv2000 (PDF), will have the choice of either the 1.8GHz or 2GHZ new-generation Core 2 Duo, complete with an 800MHz system bus and faster Intel X3100 graphics for those models that don't use dedicated video chipsets; the dv2000 will also have the option of a legacy 1.67GHz Core 2 Duo for the sake of the 14-inch system's price.

While most exact details weren't a part of the leak, the new portables will have the option of 802.11n wireless as well as a maximum 200GB of storage for the smaller dv2000 and dv6000 systems; the dv9000, however, is known to have at least two models. The dv9525us and dv9535us will have 1GB and 2GB of memory respectively while sharing a 2GHz processor and 160GB of storage.

Potential buyers of HP's business notebooks will also have the upgrade at the same time, based on similar leaks. The 14-inch HP Compaq 6510b and 15.4-inch 6710b will share the same processor and graphics options but tailor their designs to the professional crowd with the option of EVDO or HSDPA cellular Internet.

Every one of the systems is likely to be available near-immediately on May 9th, shortly after Intel's own official announcement of the Santa Rosa platform. Prices are still unreleased but should compare very closely to existing models. [via NotebookReview]
