EZQuest debuts new storage solutions at NAB
Thunder Pro A/V Studio Rack Quad/8 interface drive
The Thunder Pro A/V Studio quad interface external drive is available in capacities from 160GB to 1TB. The Studio Rack 8 is a rackmount unit that accommodates up to eight Thunder Pro A/V Studio Quad interface drives, which are removable from the rack for use as desktop devices without the need for a base station.
Users can stripe drives as RAID 0 for maximum throughput, or mirror the drives (RAID 1) for data security. Two FireWire 800 channels offer high speed connectivity, and both models are expected to ship this July.
Thunder Pro Audio/Video RAID Triple interface external drive
EZQuest's Thunder Pro Audio/Video RAID Triple interface external drive is the third device in the company's next generation of external hard drives, offering two FireWire 800 ports alongside one USB 2.0 port and one EZport FireWire 400 front access port like its sibling, the Thunder Pro A/V Studio quad interface.
The Thunder Pro A/V utilizes the latest Oxford 924 chipset as well as 7200rpm SATA II drives each featuring up to a 16MB cache buffer. Users can configure the drive for performance (RAID 0) to support multi-stream video playback with real-time effects and audio.
The drive also offers a a smart on/off power switch, and includes a MegLev ultra quiet Smart Fan as well as a thermostat to regulate drive temperature with a warning buzzer in the case of overheating or a fan failure.
The Thunder Pro A/V Studio RAID Triple interface drive will ship in capacities from 640GB-2TB in July.
Pro Studio Raid SATA/SAS storage
EZQuest's Pro Studio Raid SATA/SAS setup features four or eight hot swappable 3Gb SATA II drives, supporting 28/96 multi-track audio projects via Multi-Lane technology. The dual-channel model can deliver more than 560MB/sec sustained data throughput, while a PCI-Express single channel model offers more than 240MB/sec. Both the single- and dual-channel models come with a 3-year limited warranty, and support RAID levels 0, 1, 4, 5, 10, and 50 -- with RAID 50 requiring the dual-channel solution as well as Multi-Lane technology.
The Pro Studio RAID SATA solution is already available, with prices ranging from $2,900 for 1.28TB of storage on a single channel to $7,600 for 6TB of storage on a dual-channel setup.
