Maxon ships Cinema 4D R10 for architects

Maxon Computer today launched its Cinema 4D package for architectural visualizations with seamless connectivity to Allplan, ArchiCAD and VectorWorks. In addition, the new Architecture Edition boasts extensive object and material libraries and the new Virtual Walkthrough tool, offering architects a powerful tool for creating impressive visualizations. The company said that the new interface offers more concise and easier to recognize icons, and includes practical new features such as collapsible manager windows as well as enhanced OpenGL display and greatly improved scene management and the layer management system. The Architecture Extension Kit includes libraries that are displayed directly in the Content Browser and contain over 300 furniture and decor items -- along with Human silhouettes, numerous useful outdoor objects and over 400 specially selected and optimized materials.

Users can navigate through a scene in the editor view using the new Virtual Walkthrough tool. The integrated technology offers Collision detection, which allow users to climb stairs and prevent users from passing through walls. Each traversed path can be saved and later used to create photorealistic rendered animations. In addition, the Interactive Render Region can be used to preview each rendered scene directly in the editor view: changes made to the scene will be updated automatically in the selected Interactive Render Region.

The Architecture Edition includes a Quickstart manual which offers architects valuable tips on lighting, texturing and how to set up objects and scenes for rendering high-quality images and animations.

The Cinema 4D R10 Architecture Edition includes: Cinema 4D R10 (Windows or Macintosh), Advanced Render, Sketch and Toon, and Architecture Extension Kit, which offers eXchange Plugins for CAAD applications, Virtual Walkthrough, libraries containing more than 300 objects and 200+ materials, Material eXchange Plugin, shift camera, special visualization layout, Architecture Edition Quickstart manual.
