CalDigit unveils HDPro 8-bay storage

CalDigit today unveiled its HDPro 8-bay storage solution (site not updated) with support for RAID 0, 1, 5, and 6. The HDPro delivers up to 370MB/sec via RAID 5 and up to 400MB/sec in a RAID 0 configuration. The device offers from 2TB to 8TB of storage, and comes bundled with a host interface card as well as all the necessary accessories. The rack mount enclosure features swappable functionality for easy upgrades, coming standard with 3Gb/sec 7,200rpm SATA hard drives with up to 16MB of cache for high-speed applications. Each hard drive connects to a dedicated SATA channel to avoid bottlenecks and maximize the SATA connection, while a 10Gb interface to the host offers 2.5 times the bandwidth of 4Gb fibre-channel. CalDigit's 8-bay HDPro RAID storage solution is priced from $4,000 for a 2TB system, and includes a 3-year warranty.
