SmartMusic 10.0, SmartMusic Impact released

MakeMusic today released SmartMusic 10.0, a major update to its music learning software. The company also released SmartMusic Impact, a Web-based student grading and records management system designed to save educators time by computerizing the posting, grading, submitting, and managing of student assignments while automatically assessing grades. SmartMusic 10.0 includes more than 200 large ensemble titles with on-screen notation for band, jazz band, and orchestra with professional audio recordings for students to practice. The update includes Standard of Excellence, Book 2, as well as Time Pieces for Flute, Volumes 2 & 3. Baroque titles for all instruments also come bundled with the application. SmartMusic 10.0 is priced at $100 per year for the first computer and $25 per year for each additional seat.

New features include SmartMusic Impact, the ability to create assignments with audio-quality accompaniment for any concert selection, educator-approved SmartMusic assignments, compatibility with SmartMusic accompaniments created in Finale 2007, support for Intel-based Macs, and percussion assessment in large ensemble titles as well as Standard of Excellence, Book 2.
