Magic Bullet, Primatte Keyer updates at NAB

Red Giant Software is announcing Magic Bullet 3, Primatte Keyer Pro 4, Instant HD Pro, and upgrades for Trapcode products at the NAB 2007 convention in Las Vegas from April 16-19th (site not updated). Magic Bullet now comes in three forms which include Magic Bullet Looks, Magic Bullet Frames, and Magic Bullet Colorista. Magic Bullet Looks lets users define the style of video or film with imaging tools in After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Motion, Premiere Pro, and Avid. Magic Bullet Frames offers fast and high-quality conversion of 60i materials to 24p or just de-interlacing of video in After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Motion, Premiere Pro, and Avid. Magic Bullet Colorista is the same color correction tool that Red Giant launched in 2006, with new support for After Effects CS3 Professional, Premiere Pro CS3, and the new Final Cut Studio.

Magic Bullet Looks and Magic Bullet Frames are scheduled to ship this summer for $400 and $200, respectively. Magic Bullet Colorista is already available for $200, and the company will release an Intel-based Mac update this summer as a free upgrade for existing customers. The entire Magic Bullet Suite will ship for $800, with upgrades from any prior version priced at $200.

New versions of Trapcode Shine, Starglow, and 3D Stroke are each slated for shipment in May for $100 each. Upgrades will also be available to the new versions for registered users.

Instant HD Pro and Primatte Keyer Pro 4 are also slated for shipment in the summer of 2007 for $400 and $500, respectively. Upgrades for Primatte Keyer Pro 4 will be available alongside the new revisions for all registered users of any version at $200.

Trapcode

Trapcode Flux is a new concept for a particle system, enabling users to produce fluid and flowing organic shapes as well as other geometric moving 3D patterns. Flux will include numerous customizable presets and various parameters for advanced users hoping to create unique looks, and the software is scheduled for release this summer with pricing to be announced at that time.

Red Giant is also offering the Trapcode plug-ins for visual effects and motion graphics in the major editing applications. Trapcode Shine, Starglow, and 3D Stroke will be available in May for Final Cut Pro, Motion, Avid, and Premiere Pro. Trapcode Shine, Starglow, and 3D Stroke will also be updated to include 32-bit float support for all hosts.

Instant HD Pro

Instant HD Pro delivers the highest possible quality conversion, according to Red Giant. The software includes an advanced toolset that offers de-interlacing, de-noising, sharpening, re-graining, advanced pan as well as scan, and the first super-resolution algorithm for editors. Additionally, the original Instant HD features handling of interlaced and progressive sources for greater flexibility.

Primatte Keyer Pro 4

Primatte Keyer Pro 4 enhances speed and power for After Effects, Avid, and Premiere Pro. The new easy-to-use Auto setup is designed to create a near perfect key with one click, according to the company. De-Artificating, the entire Primatte library, and the Key Correct Light Warp feature in Primatte Keyer 4 will all feature acceleration for the GPU, resulting in up to 10 times the performance of previous versions.
