Making XP resemble OS X

One Windows user who was fed up with the visual appearance of Microsoft's Windows XP coupled together several pieces of software to change the look and feel of the Windows desktop to resemble Apple's Mac OS X operating system. An instructional video by dim-blog.com posted on metacafe depicts the new Mac OS X look on top of Windows XP, and contains the steps necessary to achieve the effect on a local system. The software required to achieve the effect includes Yahoo! Widgets -- Mac-like widgets for Windows systems, RocketDock -- producing a Mac-like dock, FlyakiteOSX -- changing the look of Windows, and 3RVX -- software to produce a Mac-like volume bar.

    doesn't...

...solve problems inherent with running Windows, so what's the point?

Also, expect cease-and-desist letters within the next 12 hours :)

    sad and pathetic

I applaud these folks who are trying to make Windows less ugly and awful by emulating the Mac, but ultimately it's a cry for help.

I work at a radio station and we have to use winblows because of the software we use. So, the computer I use in my studio has some mac looking icons, and a desktop picture of the mac logo with a frown that says 'i wish i was a mac'. everyone here gets a kick out of it (they know I'm a hardcore Mac user)

    sad and pathetic? Nope...

I'm trying to make my XP box in the office less ugly, but is it a cry for help? No. I use my Macs at home, and would love to in the office, but there is no choice.

Couldn't have put it better myself. You can't polish a t*** fellas. Do the right thing and dump the beige box.

    Get a Mac

Why deal with that and just get a Mac and run Windows too if you need too. I might customize my parallels windows with this so I can at least feel a little better when I have to run Windows. But still nothing like the real deal and leopard will make that even more apparent come June.
