Briefly: Samsung 64GB flash drive; 4D 2004.6

In brief: Samsung develops a 64GB, 1.8-inch flash drive, 4th Dimension 2004.6 is released, Timeless Time & Expense supports Safari, and Iconkits produces two stock icon packs. Aside from phones, Samsung used this week's CTIA expo to promote several new technologies, most notably a 64GB flash drive. While intended for notebooks, camcorders and GPS receivers, the drive's 1.8-inch size may lend it to other uses, such as media players. Samsung is one of the primary memory suppliers for the Apple iPod, and the video currently uses 1.8-inch hard disks.

4th Dimension updated to 2004.6

4D has released the 2004.6 edition of 4th Dimension, its program for designing business applications for Mac and Windows computers. Though the main addition is support for Microsoft Vista, it also introduces a number of bug fixes. The update is free can can be downloaded from the 4D website; full versions of the software start at $350.

Timeless support for Safari

MAG Softwrx has updated its Timeless Time & Expense software, which now has support for Apple's Safari browser. The program keeps track of project hours for the sake of proper client billing, as well as deadlines imposed on employees. The update applies specifically to the Enterprise Web edition, to which users connect using Safari. A license for the service costs $65.

Stock icons from Iconkits

Iconkits is selling two new packs of stock icons, aimed at use in software development. The Office Addon 2 and Addon 3 kits include 20 icons in four different sizes, ranging from 16 to 48 pixels, and come pre-converted to formats such as PSD, ICO, TIFF and GIF. Mac-specific icons include Shuffle and Dashboard images. Each pack is being sold for $50.
