Creative intros auto-focus Optia cam, gaming headset

Creative Optia and Headset

Creative conributed its share to CeBIT today with a duo of PC add-ons. Foremost is the Live! Cam Optia AF, the company's new premium webcam. The company claims that the device is the world's first with auto-focus as well as a 2-megapixel sensor to properly center on a subject without affecting image quality; as with the Logitech QuickCams introduced earlier this week, the Optia AF also has glass lens elements to avoid the dull look found in plastic. Images can be captured at up to 1600x1200 resolution with automatic face recognition, and a dual microphone array cuts down on unwanted background noise.

The company also saw fit to expand its Fatal1ty line with the Gaming Headset, a headphone and microphone combo that pro gamer Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel helped design for a mixture of quality and comfort: the earcups are comfortable for multi-hour gaming sessions and have 40mm neodymium drivers for strong audio quality. The microphone boom itself cuts out unwanted sounds and is detachable for when listening is the top priority.

Neither the Optia AF nor the Gaming Headset have received an official launch date or price, but should be available soon.
