Web page creation system

DutyCrew today launched its new Web page manufacturing system designed to help users build independent standalone websites with ease, consistency and flexibility. The software enables users to insert images as well as links to multimedia files -- including flash, MP3, and video. Uploading website components is automated, and navigation is sorted out for users while offering the flexibility to move pages and menu components unhindered. Users can export and import sites between machines as well as platforms, and can retain FTP passwords alongside server details The software is already available for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger users, comes with a backup mechanism, and is priced at £26 with a £2/month subscription fee. DustyCrew notes that its software is under development for other platforms, including Linux and Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista.

    Odd

Something about this product is suspicious to me: - there are no screenshots on the site - the site isn't that attractive for a company that sells a web site building product - why a subscription?

I guess I'd like to see more information before I download a 65MB app.

    PDF File

on the Downloads Page_ 8Mb file_

Chapter 2 shows how to "build a website"

loolks like an inferior web-based version of iWeb or RapidWeaver and it's written in PHP_

So not really certain why the software download is needed except to link your computer to their server for backup copies or some such thing if the website is being built online to begin with_

    not sure....

but skimming thru the rest of it doesn't seem that their claim of "making websites just got easy" really applies_

And my earlier anaologies should maybe be more applied to Google's Page Creator which is a h*** of a lot easier and more straight forward than this looks_

    Also has a better interface_
