QuickTek's 802.11n upgrade for Intel Macs

updated 09:10 am EST, Mon March 5, 2007

802.11n upgrades for Macs

QuickerTek today released its 802.11n wireless upgrade to enable the faster networking standard on older Intel Macs that lack the option of Apple's Airport Extreme 802.11n enabler. The wireless networking cards are made to the same specification as Apple's boards and install into the internal Airport card slots; QuickerTek sells the card for user installation and also offers an installation service: the user installed upgrade option includes the 802.11n upgrade card, tools and illustrated installation manual--everything required to perform the upgrade procedure, according to the company. The card itself is backed by a one-year warranty on parts and labor. The QuickerTek 802.11n upgrade card is available immediately and priced at $150 for user-installation and $200 with Quickertek's installation service included.
