In brief: Microsoft's Bill Gates and Craig Mundie held a keynote presentation to kick off the RSA Conference 2007 to emphasize a need for stronger online identity protection as well as IT systems access management; Both executives spoke to attendees in an effort to highlight Microsoft's commitment to the security software market.... Aladdin Knowledge Systems today announced multi-platform eToken PKI support with the release of eToken PKI Client 4.0 for Windows and eToken PKI Client 3.65 for Linux as well as Mac. PKI applications can generate and store private keys as well as digital certificates inside USB-based eToken smart cards to create a secure environment, according to the company.... In an open letter to Microsoft executive Bill Gates, BBC News business editor Robert Peston expresses his frustration with Windows Vista and hints toward purchasing a Mac rather than supporting the Redmond-based company moving forward. Peston cites a strong dislike for Vista's user interface as well as incompatibility with existing tools -- some of which utilize drivers written by Microsoft. The editor says the only thing that gives him any comfort is the fact that he is not alone in his Vista-stress.
