DV Monitor Pro released
Red Lightning Software has released DV Monitor Pro, an application that captures live video directly to a hard drive. Users can quickly label, rate, name, or add comments to each clip after recording shots. The software supports saving out a Final Cut Pro file for instant access to all clips and notes to immediately start editing, and offers DV Monitor Pros shot matching as well as continuity checking. Users can quickly determine whether a camera has moved, zoomed, or refocused. Continuity checking enables users to see whether something has changed in a shot, such as a candle that has burned down. DV Monitor Pro supports Custom Image Overlays with full Alpha Channel support, enabling users to preview as well as compose special effect shots or easily create custom aspect ratio masks. DV Monitor Pro supports NTSC and PAL DV FireWire cameras, requires Mac OS X, and is priced at $200.
