Refurb Mac Pros return

Reconditioned Mac Pro systems have returned to Apple's online store for as little as $2,199, offering cost-conscious professional shoppers a less expensive alternative to the company's brand new models with the same one-year warranty. Refurbished professional desktops currently include a 'low-end' system and a faster, pricier model. The refurbished Mac Pro Quad 2.66GHz Intel Xeon system is shipping with two 2.66GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon processors, 1GB of system memory, a 250GB 7200RPM SATA hard drive, and an NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT graphics card with 256MB of video memory for $2,199. The higher-end refurbished system is a Mac Pro Quad 3.0GHz Intel Xeon model with two 3.0GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon processors, 2GB of system memory, a 250GB 7200RPM SATA hard drive, and an ATI Radeon X1900 XT graphics card with 512MB of video memory for $3,299. Apple is also offering a refurbished Power Mac G5 Quad 2.5GHz with two dual-core 2.5GHz PowerPC G5 processors, 512MB of system memory, a 250GB SATA hard drive, and an NVIDIA GeForce 6600 graphics card with 256MB of video memory for $2,699. As always all Apple refurbished items come with free shipping.

Am I the only one seriously scratching my head to understand why the quad ppc is 500 bucks MORE than the quad xeon machine?

cause they gotta make up shipping cost (since it is free) due to the over-weight-ness of that bugger.

I picked up a refurbished 3.0 GHz Mac Pro with 4 GB RAM, 500 HDD, X1900XT for $3299.00 on the 9th of January. I've added more RAM, another superdrive, a Nvidia 7300GT video card and two more HDDs and I'm ticked with the value and performance!
