Beatles were awesome

erik's observation is spot-on. The Beatles will be remembered and venerated long after the current crop of corporate organ-grinders are forgotten.

Good deal about the wifi upgrade, but why keep it quiet, wouldn't that be a selling point?

Isn't that the funny

Apple suing over the interface, while stealing the trademark from Cisco.

I agree they need to defend themselves, but it has to be said that it is an ironic scenario.

ExpressCard/34

The mouse that fits in the expresscard slot is interesting, but it is not clear that it will be able to be charged from the Macbook Pro, which has an ExpressCard/34. Looking at the design and comparing it with the slot in the MBP I doubt it would reach; it certainly can't be stored there.

wonder if the album cover of Sgt. Peppers shown on the iPhone during Steve's keynote last week was a form of foreshadowing. Hmmmm . . .

From a purely musical perspective, the Beatles were ok, but very overrated. Paul was not a great singer. While George was a decent guitarist, the rest of them weren't spectacular musicians.

The Beatles were a boy band that could play their instruments. They were a great band if you include marketing. The Who and the Rolling Stones were far better bands of their day - from a musical perspective.

MoGo BT mouse not for mac

01/16, 01:17pm reply

There shouldn't be an 'or' here: "ExpressCard or 54 Card slot". Its just ExpressCard/54, which means its useless to any current mac owner. It says so quite clearly in the press release. So clear that it makes me wonder if anyone read the press release before they wrote the two sentence synopsis containing the link.

Stealing from Cisco?

01/16, 02:20pm reply

I don't believe for one second that Cisco had it before one of the other 7-8 companies using "iPhone" had it. Cisco bought another company to get it anyway. Besides, any company selling "i" anything should get smacked.

BTW: Jobs has shown Beatles stuff on iPods in the past and so far nothing has come of it, He likes the Beatles.

(But I'm sure we'll see Beatles on iTunes soon)

Partly Right

01/16, 03:34pm reply

Admittedly, The Beatles were not great musicians. But they were great songwriters and studio visionaries that tried things that had never been tried before. Beatles albums were widely anticipated and rarely ever a letdown. I always thought Ray Davies of The Kink's was a better songwriter, The Stones wrote better riffs, and The Who had Keith Moon. There will never be another Beatles (U2 may be close). But that was much different time as well. They've earned their place.
