Two new Epson printers
Epson this week at CES unveiled two new printers, including the Stylus CX7000F, the latest addition to Epson's More-in-One (MIO) line and its 13-inch wide, Ultra Hi-Definition Stylus Photo 1400 ink jet printer. The Epson Stylus CX7000F features a high-speed fax, DURABrite Ultra pigment ink for long-lasting prints that fade and water resistant, individual ink cartridges and high-speed printing and copying (up to 27 ppm/cpm) with auto reduction and enlargement. The Epson Stylus CX7000F also features card slots to print BorderFree 4"x6", 5"x 7" or letter size photos directly from a memory card or PictBridge-enabled camera without a computer. The MIO device also includes features photo color restoration and OCR software.
Epson says the Stylus CX7000F offers innovative technology that extends black ink printing, offering the option to continue printing black text using color inks when black ink is running low. The company's DURABrite Ultra ink provides advanced bright output on both plain or photo paper. It will ship later this month for $150 and is on display at the Microsoft Partner's Pavilion at CES (booth CP9).
Epson Stylus Photo 1400 expands Ultra HD printing
Epson also expanded its line-up of Ultra Hi-Definition ink jet printers with the introduction of the 13-inch wide Stylus Photo 1400. Sharing the same technology as the Epson Stylus Photo R260 and R380, including Claria ink and DX5 MicroPiezo print heads, the new photo printer produces prints up to 13"x 19" and utilizes Claria Ultra Hi-Definition Ink for advanced photo quality and longevity, six high capacity ink cartridges, DX5 Technology for five sizes of ink droplets, and faster print speeds to deliver professional quality 8"x 10" photos in as fast as 108 seconds and 11"x 14" photos in as fast as 173 seconds. In addition, it offers direct CD/DVD printing and BorderFree printing (up to 13"x 19").
The Stylus Photo 1400, which includes Adobe Photoshop Elements, replaces the Epson Stylus Photo 1280, offering almost three times the speed of its predecessor, three times longer lightfastness, and higher-capacity cartridges that offer three times the ink yield.
The tylus Photo 1400 has a street price of $400 (availability not noted).
