Xbox Live video downloads
Microsoft's Xbox Live movie service may well be at the forefront of paid movie downloads, according to a new report. Variety reports that the recently launched Microsoft service is drastically outperforming Amazon's Unbox store, which in some cases sells as little as 100 titles as downloads per day. Although no figures are available to directly compare Xbox Live's success with that of Apple's iTunes, Variety's Ben Fritz notes that Microsoft's service is much better suited to TV use, as the console is already connected to a TV and has the ability to purchase as well as rent HD-quality content, while Amazon's service is limited to computers and at best matches the quality of DVDs. Apple also faces these restrictions and may depend heavily on its anticipated iTV media hub to match Microsoft's technology, according to Electronista.

XBL 720p video

The nice thing about XBL video is that there's some 720p available which shows off HD sets.
Unfortunately, as far as I can see, it's either rentals (which don't tell you how long they last until you rent them, assuming 24h) that are overpriced or trailers/promos/clips.
iTV! WHERE ARE YOU?!?

the rentals are for 14 days, and expire 24 hours after you start to watch the content - which isn't too bad

Remember when MacNN used to post stories directly? Now they use the site just to plug their other sites!
And what's with MS's stupid-a** points system? Are they hoping their customers can't do the math and think spending 400 points is like spending 4 dollars (its more like $5).

MS Points

MS Points are their way of dealing with multiple currencies. This way, Geometry Wars is 400 MS Points. This could be $5 USD, 7.50 Canadian, 3UK Pounds, 22 Aus Dollars, etc.
Probably the easiest way to deal with all the currency differences.
