OmniPlan 1.0 ships

The Omni Group has announced the final release of OmniPlan 1.0, a new software solution designed to create logical, manageable project planning documents. With OmniPlan, users can break down tasks, optimize the resources needed for any project, control various costs, and monitor the entire project at a glance. OmniPlan features include easy task entry, in-depth resource management, a scheduling system for tasks and resources, visual timelines (Gantt charts), violation notifications and end-date reminders, critical path highlighting, and multiple options for sharing data. Documents created in Microsoft Project XML, MPX, or MPP formats can be opened by OmniPlan (with a few limitations), according to the company. OmniPlan can import CSV and OmniOutliner formats, and export information to Project XML and MPX, iCal, CSV, HTML, OmniOutliner, OmniGraffle, and a variety of image formats. It is available for $150 ($90 education) with a $60 rebate available for license-holders of PMX, FastTrack Schedule, Merlin, and ConceptDraw Project.
