VLC 0.8.6 media player
The VLC Team has updated the open-source media player: VLC 0.8.6 brings many bug fixes as well as new features, including Apple Remote support, Apple's fullscreen controller, Universal Binary support for native operation on Intel-based Macs (as well as PowerPC Macs), improved H.264 support and new support for Windows Media Video 9 and VC-1, VP5/VP6 and Flash video, and TTA and WavPack Lossless audio. It also offers preliminary DVR-ms and MXF support as well as Shoutcast TV support. The cross-platform player supports a large number of multimedia formats, without the need for additional codecs and can also be used as a streaming server, with extended features (video-on-demand, on-the-fly transcoding, etc.). The softwawre is free under the GNU General Public License.
