Aspyr to ship Prey for Mac

Aspyr Media today announced plans to release Prey for Mac, a first-person shooter that offers new gameplay features and next-generation graphics. Prey introduces innovative gameplay elements including wall-walking, portals, spirit-walking, and gravity flipping for enhanced eight-player deathmatches. "Prey tells the story of Tommy, a Cherokee garage mechanic stuck on a reservation and going nowhere. His life changes when an otherworldly crisis forces him to awaken spiritual powers from his long-forgotten birthright. Abducted along with his people to a menacing mothership orbiting Earth, he sets out to save himself and his girlfriend and ultimately his planet." Aspyr plans to ship Prey in January of 2007.

Prey allows players to manipulate gravity by shooting special targets located throughout the 'sphere,' and various zones throughout the world offer flipped gravity in various directions. Wall walking allows players to traverse walls and explore otherwise unreachable areas, and players can enter a special spirit form by calling upon the power of ancient ancestors to leave the body and sneak up on enemies or overcome obstacles. Portals allow enemies to appear 'out of thin air,' creating new and original puzzles.

    A++ game

    Prey is a great game, however I think I'll stick with my 360 version.

    This game took many moons

    I remember reading a preview for this game back in 1997. Good ol' 3D Realms... "hail to the Kings" of Vaporware. What's funny is that there is no announcement about a Mac version on the 3DR web site. I bet that'll take another 10 years. ;o) Still, I hear the PC version was good, so I'm hoping Aspyr's Mac port is decent.
