XtremeMac unveils Luna iPod clock radio

11/23, 9:40am

XtremeMac Luna iPod Clock

Accessory maker XtremeMac has used the holiday break to introduce the Luna iPod clock radio, touting it as a major advancement in personal audio. Its interface is key to its design, according to the company. Settings for the alarm and other elements of the interface are handled via an iPod-style interface on the Luna's built-in LCD, not only simplifying the interface but also ensuring familiarity for existing iPod owners. XtremeMac further says that the improved controls let listeners fine-tune the wake and sleep settings: in addition to choosing the buzzer, iPod, or AM/FM radio as a source, owners can specify a gradual increase or decrease in volume to prevent a jarring experience. With separate controls for bass and treble and full-range speakers, the Luna promises high audio quality, XtremeMac says. The clock radio supports all dockable iPods through universal dock adapters and can connect to the iPod shuffle or other audio devices through an aux-in port. The Luna is scheduled to ship on December 18th for $150.
