IntelliScanner ships Wine Collector 200

IntelliScanner today unveiled the Wine Collector 200, a portable barcode scanner and companion software package for wine collection management. By scanning the retail barcode with the included portable USB or Bluetooth wireless barcode scanner, users can automatically identify detailed product information using an Internet-enabled AutoFill wine database. After scanning, collectors use the companion wine management software to track bottle locations, calculate wine maturity, view bottles on the color-coded Virtual Cellar grid, and add custom ratings. Users can use the same barcode to look up listings, add comments, and mark the bottle as consumed (when appropriate). Wine Collector 200 offers AJAX-enabled Internet sharing tools with a free, fully integrated Web 2.0 publishing service.

In a few clicks, the company says that users can automatically create a personal homepage with their wine collection at IntelliScanner.net. It also offers advanced features and tools for casual wine enthusiasts and professional collectors alike, offering an three-paneled interface for managing collections with integrated maturity calculation, location tracking with both square and diamond grids, an integrated wine glossary, on-the-go quantity and vintage scanning with included utility cards, and easy scanning with IntelliScanner simplicity -- just scan the barcode and plug it in to organize any size wine collection.

Wine Collector 200 is now available for $300 and includes an IntelliScanner Collector portable barcode reader, Wine Collector 2.0 software, and pre-printed IntelliScanner Asset Tags for bottles that don't have barcodes. Wine Collector works with Windows PCs and Mac OS X. The package is offered by default with a portable USB scanner -- Bluetooth wireless ($300) and tethered USB ($200) models are also available.
