New Clarion GPS, DVD units

Clarion is currently shipping two new products for the holiday season. The NAX970HD is a GPS system which Clarion claims is their first in North America to use their 3D menu interface, based on Windows Automotive 5.0 and updatable through the unit's 30GB hard drive. The unit's database covers all of the continental United States and portions of Canada. Other features of the 970 include voice guidance, automatic route adjustment, and a built-in gyroscopic sensor.

The interface requires a screen however, and to that end Clarion is promoting the MAX675VD (pictured). The touchscreen "multimedia station" handles TV, CDs, DVDs, satellite radio, and more. Particularly noteworthy is its iPod integration, which not only accepts audio and video from the players but displays an iTunes library on-screen. Clarion's "2-Zone" technology allows two different AV sources to play in the front and back sections of a car. The MAX675VD and the NAX970HD are retailing for $1,200 apiece.
