Impression goes Universal

The Babel Company company announced that it has relinquished development of its archival utility for Mac OS X to another developer. Impression, a comprehensive backup utility, is now maintained by "I Need Your Software," who has released a new Universal version of the utility for native operation on both Intel- and PowerPC-based Macs. Version 3.02 of the system utility offers both full and incremental archive operations, can create plain-file or pax-based archives, supports archives to spanned CD/DVD sets, delivers iCal-bases scheduling, can encrypt and/or compress disk images, offers file segmentation and verification, bookmark management, grep-based exclusions/filters, reporting, preservation of HFS meta-data, and multisession burning. It is available for $20.
