Five Speed ships iGet 2.5
Five Speed today shipped iGet 2.5, an update to its Mac file transfer tool. Along with improved performance and several bug fixes, iGet 2.5 delivers a redesigned New Connection window, a new interface for maintaining the favorite connections list, and support for public key authentication using OpenSSH key files. "Its custom-designed network protocol efficiently supports remote Spotlight searching and true Mac icons. It understands packages, Finder labels, HFS metadata and resource forks, etc. Connections are always strongly encrypted. And yet, the interface is so intuitive that there is virtually no learning curve at all for most Mac users." In addition, the software supports the ability to resume any file transfer, Automator support (actions built-in), Keychain integration, Bonjour network browsing, SSH-encrypted transfers, drag-and-drop transfers, and support for Unicode file names. The software requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later and is available for $50. It runs as a Universal Binary, supporting both Intel- and PowerPC-based Macs.
