Boris FX v9, Graffiti 5.0

Boris FX has released Boris FX 9.0, a new version of its 2D and 3D compositing and effects plug-in and Graffiti 5.0, its 2D and 3D vector title animation plug-in solution. Both titles integrate with industry standard non-linear editing systems. Boris FX 9 incorporates an ultra-modern UI design and over 50 new filters: "the new UI incorporates NLE look and feel for smooth user interaction. A mini timeline in the composite window with keyframe animation controls and popular 'Sticky' and 'Magnetic' windows create an interactive design environment." In addition, the release offers over 100 compositing and effects filters, new library browser templates, support for new hosts, and 16-bit color. The company said a Universal version of the software will be available in December as free update to v9 owners. Boris FX 9 is $300 with upgrades priced at $200.

Graffiti 5.0 is based on the new Boris Red 4.0 release offering a slick new user environment, compositing and effects creation tools, and industrial strength processing.

“Boris Graffiti is used by thousands of creative professionals – becoming the “go the tool” for cross-platform titling and vector graphics creation. The release of version 5.0 really raises the creativity capabilities with powerful features such as EPS import and an ergonomically enhanced UI,” said Boris Yamnitsky, founder and president, Boris FX.

Much like Boris FX 9, Graffiti 5.0 offers a new new UI that incorporates NLE look and feel for smooth user interaction. It also offers the ability to import scalable vector art directly into Graffiti: Users can add, delete or modify the original spline points and the result can be extruded and animated in 3D space, the company noted.

Version 5.0 also offers 40 title treatment filters, including the most popular Continuum and Final Effects filters (as well as other new filters); new library browser templates, support for additional NLE hosts, and 16-bit color support. A Universal version will be available in December as a free update to existing owners.

Boris Graffiti 5.0 is $300, while upgrades are $200. The company is offering the Boris FX and Boris Graffiti releases bundled for $500 (or $300 for both upgrades).
