Missing Sync 3 for WM

MarkSpace today released The Missing Sync 3 for Windows Mobile, a major upgrade to the company's synchronization software allowing PocketPCs and Windows Mobile-based smartphones to sync with Mac OS X. Version 3.0 adds many new features including syncing of Word as well as Excel documents, Safari bookmarks, iTunes playlists, and iPhoto albums. Users can also sync files and folders to a mobile device, and the latest release supports numerous handhelds that run Windows Mobile 2002, 2003, and 5.0. The update is free for users who have purchased version 2.5 on or after October 1st, according to the company. Owners of any previous versions are eligible to upgrade for $20, while new users can obtain the software for $40. The Missing Sync requires a G4, G5, or Core-based Mac running Mac OS X 10.4.8 or newer.

    OUTRAGEOUS!

This is OUTRAGEOUS! I bought the 2.5 product the almost as soon as it was released and it HAS NEVER worked right. I have a Cingular 8125 (Windows Mobile 5). I have tried following all of the suggestions from the MarkSpace Support pages to make this run better, but to no avail. I was hoping that they would improve their WM5 support, as this seems to be the problem more than the product overall but I wasn't expecting to have to pay TWICE in order to get a product that will actually allow me to copy my pictures from my phone to my Mac.

I had written this software off after it started _really_ mangling my contacts. I guess I should have stayed with Nokia (iSync support) after all :(

Why isn't this a free upgrade for people who bought v2.5?

    perhaps

because its a substantially updated product with a multitude of new functionalities that you didn't pay for before. Not that I dont feel your pain, but perhaps if you keep up communication with MarkSpace and not just read the board, he may be compelled to help you. In that now, all you're doing is spreading negative publicity, he might do it just to shut u up.

    Lame.

I used this software with a T-Mobile MDA for about 4 months. Nothing but a headache - and with the MDA *not* being supported natively in Mac OS X, I am selling it. Sorry, but this software isn't what it was cracked up to be.

    Window Mobile 6

Wow. Absolutely no support for Windows Mobile 6. They are REALLY behind the times. Maybe next year or decade.
