Adobe ships Creative Suite 2.3
Adobe has begun shipping Creative Suite 2.3, an enhanced version of the professional application suite that now includes Dreamweaver 8 (acquired from Macromedia) and Acrobat Professional 8, the new Universal version of its PDF application for creating PDFs and managing communication that began shipping earlier this month. Acrobat 8 offers a refined interface to allows user to easily access various features, including combining, signing and protecting PDF files, interacting with PDF forms, reviewing and collaborating on documents as well as integration of Acrobat Connect software (formerly Macromedia Breeze), a hosted software service for realtime Web conferencing and collaboration.
Announced in September, Creative Suite 2.3 offers tighter integration between Adobe Acrobat 8, the only Universal component of the suite, and other applications in the suite. The full version is $1200, while upgrades are $160 for CS2 Premium users and $550 for CS1 users.
Adobe's Creative Suite 3, which will offer Universal versions of all applications and other new features, is expected to arrive in the first half of 2007 and will drive Mac sales, according to a new report.

but i wasn't expecting 2.3 to do that. i think we all know that 3.0 is where Universal will come into play for all these apps. and at MWSF07 of course. let's stop acting surprised.
None of the new features in 8 are available on the Mac; all are on the Windows side. Now, you can't even get the Standard version for Macs! So the only version available is the Professional for $160 price, which only sports a Universal Binary as its main update. And to add insult to injury, you can't download a Mac demo to see how much faster it is!!! Icing on the cake...no Acrobat 8 Reader is available!
Adobe sucks! They're worse than Microsoft!
