SolidAlliance releases gold USB flash drive

Mottainai Gold USB Drive

SolidAlliance, a company known for producing USB flash drives in exotic formats, today unveiled a special model designed in dedication to traditional Japanese craftmakers. Called the MOTTAINAI, the 2GB drive's body is made of bronze but is gold-plated to emphasize its luxury appeal. The memory chips themselves are sheltered by crystals from the well-known Japanese glassworkers Statsuma Kiriko. Users may also have the choice to upgrade the memory later, SolidAlliance notes: as the less modernized construction requires screws to hold the case together, the design raises the possibility of replacing the existing drive with a higher-capacity model in the future. The company is preparing to launch its MOTTAINAI luxury drive in mid-November for approximately $767 US.
