Review, $30k Apple logo
In brief: MacNN has reviewed the Huckleberry Mirror for iSight ($30, shown at right), a small mirror accessory that hangs on Apple's MacBook and MacBook Pro notebooks to reverse the direction of the built-in iSight.... One Microsoft employee has created a $30,000 Apple logo in his office in Redmond, WA with 64 Mac mini boxes taped to the wall in the shape of an Apple.... Apple is set to open its newest retail store in Chula Vista, CA on Friday, October 27th at 9:00 a.m. PDT.... Yahoo has cancelled its POP3 email service for Yahoo Webmail users, disallowing the use of external email clients such as Apple Mail and Eudora.... LG today debuted its L1900 fashion-oriented LCD with a glossy black finish that features a stand shaped as a partial eclipse, jar, or ring.... Reports are surfacing that Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system may have significant problems above and beyond typical first-release copies.

This is horrible about Yahoo cancelling their POP3 service! I think I know what this means... When the Yahoo Mail beta goes live, they will be taking down the POP3 service. For those who pay for this, it stinks. For those of us who use FreePops/YPops/MacFreePops etc, I imagine we too will lose POP3 access until the open source community figures out how to extract mail from the new interface. This might very well push me from Yahoo to Gmail once and for all.

wrong about Yahoo

If that single link is the only statement regarding no POP3 access on Yahoo, then this statement is just wrong. That link goes to one of the Yahoo Mail help pages -- for Yahoo Canada. If their help pages are to be believed, they don't have Mail Plus! there, which is the pay service that permits POP3 access for Yahoo US. My POP3 access still works, and there's no indication on any of the US help pages that it's going away. Yahoo! (unlike Gmail) has not offered free POP3 access for their US site for years.
(Also, there is a separate, contradictory) help page on Yahoo Canada that says POP3 access IS available if you sign up for Yahoo! Delivers, an ads-in-email service that I think I had years ago and which they replaced with Mail Plus.)
