EA locks Digital Illusions
Though EA and DICE (Digital Illusions CE) were pretty well entwined beforehand, with EA distributing DICE's Battlefield series, it's only now that DICE has been fully absorbed into the publisher. EA announced the acqusition today for the price of 2.6 million shares, producing a payout of 67.50 Swedish kronas ($9.23 US) per each DICE share held. DICE CEO Patrick Söderlund will run the company as an EA Studio General Manager, while also taking on "additional creative responsibilities." There's no indication that games like Bad Company or Battlefield 2142 will be affected.
