CBS "Genius Bar" series

CBS has agreed to shoot a pilot called "Genius Bar" based on an idea by a marketing expert who was involved with the launch of Apple's iMac, as well as its iPod portable media player. Pitched by two former producers of "That 70's Show," the pilot explores the interactions between people who work at an Apple Store "Genius Bar" type establishment and the employees of a nearby Ambercrombie & Fitch-type store, according to Reuters. The idea caught the attention of ABC, CBS, and NBC before landing at CBS. Writers Josh Sternin and Jeff Ventimilia will write the script and produce the show with the idea's originator, consumer marketing expert Krishnan Menon. Menon worked for top marketing agencies such as DDB and Digitas West, where he contributed to such high-profile projects as the launch of Apple's iMac and iPod, according to the report.

    ugh

This sounds pretty boring. Or at least so nerdy that only a few people will appreciate it. I'll watch it though. :)

Too bad it would be banned in the UK for using Apples in the series.

Although wouldn't it be funny if the producers used Dell computers because they got a better kick-back?

    ack

I'd throw up if they implied Dell had anything in coming with genius! But it should be produced in the UK. The BBC makes better, more intelligent sitcoms.

    Not Banned

It wont be banned in the UK due to some cleaver name changes. The computer store will be called "Beatles With Wings" and will have 2 main characters named Paul Starr and Ringo McCartney. The Pilot will be called "The White Store" and takes place at the Abbey Road mall.

Following episodes will be named "A Hard Night's Day" and "Lt. Paprica's Lonely Kidney Club store"
