Wii control compatibility
We've known for a while that you'd be able to use GameCube pads with the Wii, but the exact conditions of that ability were shrouded in confusion. Today, Nintendo has revealed some of the specifics to fansite Nintendojo. Regular GameCube and wireless WaveBird controllers will be compatible with all Cube titles, and some Wii games, including Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Game director Masahiro Sakurai has even said that Brawl may play better with a Cube pad than the Wiimote. Regarding the WaveBird however, Nintendo says gamers will need their original receivers in spite of the Wii's built-in wireless support. It's also unknown whether or not older controllers will work with Virtual Console titles. For those, it may be safer to stick with the "classic" Wii controller (pictured).
