Free Module Maker ships

Created Equal today announced the release of Module Maker, a companion application to its recently introduced tutorial software, TeachMac. Module Maker is a free application that allows users to compile video, graphics and text into modules playable in TeachMac and TeachIT (the upcoming windows version). A module is a series of text and video or graphic based lessons on a stated topic, such as "Intro to the Mac" or "Tiger for Teachers". Individual lessons can be recombined and saved as custom modules by the users. All modules work on Mac and Windows systems within their respective applications. TeachMac is a free, while modules range in price from free to $15; a $50 annual subscription grants access to all modules. Module Maker is available for download.

Created Equal also announced that it will double the share Module builders receive for their work. While individuals may build modules for personal use and not share them, those who submit modules to Created Equal will now get 100 percent of the individual sales of their modules (up from 50%). In addition, the company will contribute 25 percent of the net revenues generated by subscriptions and site licenses of TeachMac and TeachIT to a fund and distribute it to module makers annually. The company said that more information about the distribution method and procedure will be posted on both sites within a week.
