MGS4 date, trailer details
Speaking with Famitsu, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has said that MGS4 is at least a full year away from completion. Since this is supposed to be Kojima's last Metal Gear, one wouldn't be surprised if it slipped into 2008. In the meantime however we will get to see a six-minute trailer at the Tokyo Game Show, this one comprised entirely of gameplay footage. Details from Famitsu reveal that we'll see Snake using his new optic camouflage, dubbed the Octocam, to hide from his enemies in plain sight. In shadows, the Octocam will render Snake practically invisible. The little robot controlled by Otacon will have defensive capabilities such as an electroshock wire. Lastly, Kojima says that stealth will be entirely optional in the game. You'll be able to depend on it if you want to, but the objectives will not require it. The point is to reach your targets by any means available.
