Free repairs to 2005 360's
Members of the official Xbox forums have learned that Microsoft is offering free, extended one-year warranties to all 360's made prior to January 1st, 2006. This means that those consoles are now eligible for free repairs. If Microsoft made you pay for repairs under a shorter warranty, the company will send you a reimbursement via mail. This comes as many gamers continue to complain about 360's displaying the "red rings of death" - lights that indicate total system failure. It's likely that at least some of the failing 360's were produced after December.
