One million PS3's pre-sold
In covering Berlin's Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) show earlier this month, it seems that Blu-ray.com (an unofficial site) made a remarkable comment. "Sony also showed their PlayStation 3 (PS3) game console, which drew a lot of attention as usual and with over one million consoles pre-sold the demand is not an issue." Immediately, one wonders where the Website got this figure; were they told by a spokesman? Were they thinking of long-term expectations? Sony could be in very dire straits if it managed to hawk that many pre-orders with vendors. There will only be a worldwide total of 500,000 units at launch, so retailers could be waiting until 2007 to get hardware they were promised for November. Gamer Scan will work to clarify the situation if possible.
