Apple iPhone a reality
Apple has worked the kinks out of its new cellular handset, according to American Technology Research senior analyst Shaw Wu, and the phone is ready for production. "Handsets are a tricky and competitive business, but an enormous opportunity for Apple," the analyst wrote in a research note obtained by MacNN. "We believe the new Apple handset will be a major player and competitor set to disrupt yet another industry." Wu admits that Apple's "go to market" strategy for the new phone is yet unknown, but is confident the company will time its launch opportunistically and that the new handset is positioned to gain significant traction. "This new market could easily represent an incremental $2 billion annual revenue run-rate revenue opportunity in 2007."
The analyst is encouraging investors to aggressively purchase Apple shares prior to the potential revolution of the handset industry. The firm now estimates $22.2 billion and $2.60 earnings-per-share for fiscal year 2007, up from $22 billion and $2.45.

"a reality"?

I'd hardly call it "a reality" until it's been officially announced. This analyst hasn't shed any new or significant light on this ongoing rumor.

iphone vs razr

If it is not as lean, functional and relaible as the razr then it will not gain my vote... Apple tends to want to make things new however the razr is the bently of this market and I hope apple considered that the case otherwise i guess apple will realize it soon...

RAZR SUCKS!

"The Razr is the Bentley of this market"
Are you outta your wack! According to whom? YOU? Get real dude. If you like it, then great, it's personal taste. As for the software and design, Sony Ericsson eats Motorola for lunch ANY DAY of the year.

So, what "hot feature" could it be? I'm wondering about iChat integration. Live video conferencing between phones and PCs. Not sure if that's feasible, just speculating.

iChat Integration indeed
09/05, 12:46pm reply
rezzz, iChat integration would be my guess as well. I would say the inclusion of iSights in all Macs this year has a greater purpose. Phone home to the wife or kids who can see you on the computer? That'd be a killer feature.

Moto has by fare the worst software of any cellphone company. People only buy it for looks. My girlfriend and my sister have em. Girly phones that look good but dont do jack. If this apple phone is half as good as nokia or sony it will still be better than moto.
Buts thats always been the apple trade mark, cool looks WITH cool functions. I'm shure it will sell great.

They just don't get it.

I feel sure this guy is talking out of his a*s, about the iPhone being "a reality".
Analysist also don't ever seem to get it about the market. iTunes phones have been around for over a year now, and have little traction. They are too crippled.
Apple will OWN the market if they can release a widescreen video iPod with wireless capabilities on all the major networks (Cingular, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon), that does phone and PDA applications.
Anything short is a "ROKR".
