Mac Pro memory kits ship

Other World Computing has begun shipping its new fully buffered DIMM (FB-DIMM) 667MHz DDR2 72-bit ECC (error correcting) memory upgrade kits for Mac Pro. The kits include matched pairs of FB-DIMM modules that comply with Apple's specifications, which are more demanding than standard JEDEC requirements and include the use of Apple Qualified heat spreaders. The kits start at $560 for two 1GB modules and up to $4,800 for eight 2GB modules. The 1GB modules feature same day shipping, while 2GB modules ship in six days. As with other OWC memory, the new kits include a 30-day money-back guarantee and OWC's "Lifetime" advance replacement warranty. [Image included]

    Mac Pro RAM

Two days ago Crucial advertised RAM for the Mac Pro at significantly lower prices than those currently listed at OWC. The price was approximately $343 per pair of 1GB chips. Mysteriously this page has disappeared from Crucial's website. The URL was:

    http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.asp?Mfr%2BProductline=Apple%2BMac+Pro&mfr=Apple&cat=&model=Mac+Pro&submit=Go

Go to this address now produces the following:

"No products are currently available for the system you selected. Your system may require proprietary or non-standard parts." Any guesses as to what happened?

    crucial mistake?

Just a guess, but Crucial may have jumped the gun and assumed it would take regular DIMMs like the PowerMac G5 - when they found out, they probably pulled the product since it wasn't the correct format.
