Intuit ships Quicken Mac 2007

Quicken Mac 2007 released


Intuit today released Quicken Mac 2007, introducing comprehensive paycheck management, 401(k) investment management, and a QuickEntry dashboard widget. The software's 401(k) feature allows users to download and track accounts, investments, share holdings, and daily prices from within Quicken. Users can also download, track, and verify the accuracy of information contained in paychecks via an easy-to-use interface. The QuickEntry widget enables Mac users to enter details of expenses without running the application. Quicken Mac 2007 is available for $70, and requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later.

Managing daily finances

Quicken Mac 2007 features payment scheduling and payment of recurring items; reminders for irregular payments such as insurance premiums and estimated quarterly tax payments; a big picture view of overall finances; the ability to find answers to archival or forward-looking questions; and .Mac backup functionality.

    Nope - apparently there is still no support for stock options in the mac version - its been there since forever in the windows version.

    What? Are you kidding? Feature parity? The only way feature parity will be gained is when 10.5 is released with that whole Parrallels-like functionality, and Intuit finally dumps Quicken for mac and just tells you to get the windows version. They are, to say the least, one sucky Mac software company. I'm sure if someone had the tenacity to find the "what's new" lists for both the windows and mac versions, they'd also find that a lot more new stuff was added to the windows version as well. (h***, I remember one version of Quicken added such hot stuff as .Mac backup and iCal integration, and maybe one new 'financial' feature).

    It must be so nice not to have any competition.

    Multiple currencies

    I agree 100% feature parity between Mac and Windows versions would be nice, I'd be happy for now if they'd just add the support for multiple currencies to the Mac version.

    mult. curr. NOT in Q2007

    I've heard back from Quicken support - still no proper multiple currency support. They asked me to submit it as a feature request -- seems they've responded the same way the last three years when I've asked the same question.

    I'll be checking out iBank.

    No excuses, but . . .

    For some features in the Windows' version it is not possible for Intuit to provide a Mac version. This is because Quicken in many ways relies on the cooperation of third party financial institutions which are not Mac friendly.

    The answer is a BIG no.
