Red Marble offers new political sim

Red Marble's Democracy

Red Marble Games today announced Democracy, an engaging new political simulation game: "When you start the game, you've just been elected President or Prime Minister. You can change dozens of policies, ranging from taxes to smoking laws to environmental subsidies and more. You can take your country in any direction you like -- liberal, conservative, socialist, fascist, whatever your pleasure -- but you've got to be reelected! Democracy's sophisticated neural networks track the reaction of almost two dozen voter groups, including farmers, drinkers, parents, and more, to the policies you choose. If you lose the support of the electorate, you lose the game!" A 10MB demo includes a tutorial to walk players through the interface, and allows play as Prime Minister of the UK. The full version also allows play as the chief executives of the U.S., Japan, France, Germany, Sweden, China, and six others, and saves games in progress. It requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later and is available for $23.
