MacPractice 2.2 announced

MacPractice today announced that it will ship a major new version of its practice management software for dentists, optometrists, physicians, and chiropractors. MacPractice 2.2, designed especially for both PowerPC- and Intel-based Macs, is expected to ship in August with improvements to the appointments module, improved charge processing, and improved integration with third-party digital imaging solutions. The company says that the changes have the "potential to dramatically change how a doctor’s office works," while also addressing new government requirements. Changes to workflow will allow offices to use Transparencies to control which procedures may be scheduled at certain times also schedule multiple appointments for a patient. Integrated processing of credit/debit card charges will help reduce staff time and associated fees for most offices as well, according to the notes.
